Chassis Dyno
Are their any race shops in Northern NJ with a Chassis Dyno? I had my engine dynoed at Ceralli's in Paterson. I only had one day of dyno time, so it was spent on full throttle top power and checking for mechanical issues.
But now that the engine is in the car, I would like to get the car on a chassis dyno to work out some of the idle/part/full throttle hiccups. This car is being set up for SCCA competition and I would like to have as many of the drivability bugs worked out before I start racing it this summer.
Anybody have some experience with chassis dynos in the area?
Thanks

I thought SSP has one now. I also think JS Performance has dyno access.

The only thing that scares me is that SSP appears to be a shop that specializes in performance cars with electronic control fuel delivery and ignition timing. I want a shop that has personnel with experience with "old fashion" carbs and mechanical ignition. I would be pissed off if I get there and I have to teach the guys how a carb works. I have a feeling I would have to tell them to get out of the room and let me do what I have to do with their equipment and my car. I wonder if they would let me do that?
Has anybody been to the SSP shop? Are they a knowledgeable group of enthusiasts?

I know the guy running SSP seems to know his stuff, but I haven't been there personally. Josh at JSPerformance could easily get that setup for you. Josh doesn't have a dyno at his shop, but he does have dyno access at another shop.

He seems knowledgeable from when I've met him but like you said, I've only seen him deal with new stuff. Doesn't mean he doesn't know old stuff as well though

Who me? I dunno notin bout dem carbonadors!
What kind of driveability issues are you having?
If full throttle air/fuel and timing is right then the rest is just air bleeds, pump shot, and idle mixture...

There are lots of them. For example, IMP Auto in Clifton, former T&J Larocca's in Englishtown, Bruce's Speed Shop in Rockaway. However the people from IMP and T&J don't seem to have much clue. The people from IMP don't seem to have much clue even about how to operate the dyno. I haven't tried Bruce's.
