launch technique
Ok, I've been to the track a few times with my trans am, and each time my times have been decrease from 14's at 98mph to 13.8 at 103, and now 13.5 at 106 almost 107. My 60ft times are around 2.2 to 2.3, and a .057 r/t What do you guys suggest for my launch I bog almost everytime. The video below is how badly i bog, and the 2nd video is me really laying into my launch.

This is a 383?
What kind of RPM are you launching at?
M6 or A4?

If you are bogging, then launch at a higher rpm. Are you running DRs? If not, I would suggest in a set.

What size DRs and what psi are you running them at?
Pretty surprising that they spun like that at a 3000rpm launch.

Stop dumping the clutch with drag radials. You're gonna have to slip it to get it to hook and not bog. If you'd rather dump the clutch, I'd say ditch the drag radials and get a set of bias-ply tires such as the M/T ET Streets or the Hoosier Quick Time Pro. Traditional drag radials have no give in the side wall to take the shock of dumping the clutch which will either make you bog or spin. Bias-ply or wrinkle walls have a soft flexible side wall that eats up some of that shock from clutch engagement which reduces alot of the bogging. Hope this helps ya.

this.
I wish I had a video of me launching my 2002.. You really have to drag the clutch to get a decent 60' time on street tires.. My best 60' is a 1.84, on a 12.71 pass with just an air lid, flowmaster muffler and slight tune on BFG KDWs.. If you keep dumping the clutch you are going to either a) spin or b) break something because the rear and driveshaft are your weak points and if you do hook they take too much of a hit. Get to know how your car feels when its about to slip, drag the clutch so its hooking the whole time with minimal spin. No, your clutch probably won't last long, but you'll have better ETs and won't destroy your rear

correct. breaking your rear and driveshaft isn't fun

B4C said go balls to the wall...I think I'm gonna try again real soon before my cam swap, I just need to practice on slipping the clutch now, should I stay around 2000 or 3000?

Yea... cause B4Cs car runs what a monster cammed car should...
Yea, you gotta find a good RPM where you get it moving and not blow past the tires.

set tires at 21psi
hold rpm near 4k and let clutch out quick and smooth...then mash the gas
skip to 1:45 (not my best launch but you'll get the idea)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wCsgeX1td0
If you blow the tires off then try launching at a lower rpm. Don't be discouraged as it
will take a handful of runs to find the sweet spot

I generally launch between 4-5k, depending on track condition.. drag the clutch enough to find the balance between keeping your RPMs up and your tires planted.. It will take quite a few passes, and might not even be possible on street tires during the summer months.. High track temp during the day, and high humidity at night don't make for good traction. Try it on a cooler, partly cloudy day when track temp is optimal

Lets not pick on B4C now, Ida tried what he said, but I fear my strong 10 bolt might bite back

sometimes you have to roll with the punches .... or cross that bridge when you get there.
If it breaks, you can fix it. You can make it faster, stronger, better.

I went back and slipped the clutch this time and went 13.1 at 107 with a 2.1 60'. Would have tried more, but I got thrown off the track due to a leaky oil cooler(no i didn't know till then)
