At 33 splines it's probably an Eaton which is not a bad diff at all. You may be able to change up the posi to make it work with stiffer springs and better clutches but I dunno.
I wouldn't bother with the spool.

ill have to look into it, the spool was a little annoying when i had it in the trans am but that was with 315 tires. when i had 275 tires it actually wasnt that bad to drive around with and thats prob the max i can put on my nova also whats the difference between a full spool and a mini spool?

they are both for the track.
I see a t56, do you plan on using this car on the street much? What is the intended useage here?
If it wasn't for the c-clip eliminators I'd want to grab that rear you mentoined, but they have issues with long term street use.

The max you can put on your nova is a 275/60.
A full spool replaces the diff. A mini spool replaces the guts of an existing diff.
Spool is not really a good idea, a mini spool is a ****ing terrible one. Puts too much stress on the diff's cross shaft.
Either option negates any of your handling upgrades.

spools strees wheel studs too.
4.56 gears don't sound like a great idea either unless maybe the tires are real tall or the engine has all sorts of rpm range. that is why I'm asking about inteneded use.
but that 12 bolt might be a good deal. you'll probably break the t56 first.

its going to be a weekend car and im going to take it to the track occasionally. i drove a lt1 6 speed car with 456's for a couple of months and it wasnt bad at all. i dont plan on taking any long trips with it. the tires are going to be 275 60 15's i was just thinking about the spool because i dont have to worry about blowing posi units and it didnt bother me at all when i drove with a spool in my trans am

There are other options besides posi and spool.
Is this going to be a drag oriented car or a handling car?

I would personally go for a TruTrac.

you could always buy that 12 bolt, assuming it is good, and use it until it breaks (if it ever even does) and then deal with the carrier later. 12 bolts can take a lot of abuse, and can be built up even stronger.

i was looking into tru trac systems but thats around 450 plus installing, and if i build this 12 bolt up its going to be close to a dana60. thats where im in a split decision, i can get a brand new dana60 for around 2 and have no worries but i could save a few hundred and run a risk of failure.

dana60 &
t56 with 30spline output shaft conversion
otherwise plan on rebuilding the t56 shortly cuz it will break before the 12bolt or dana breaks.

thats what i had planned on doing, i figured it wouldn't handle it so ive been searching for a built t56. but now its buy the rear or a trans and i need to move the car around so trans will be after the rear and motor

I like the idea of buying the 12 bolt and using it as it is until the posi goes, probably not for a while. When it does, then spend the money on the tru trac.
4.56s with those 28" tall tires would put you at ~2,050 rpm @ 75mph in 6th gear. In comparison, 4.30s would be 1,935 rpm and 4.10s would be 1,845 rpm.
