Let me try this again. Just point me towards an amp.
Head unit: JVC KD-G230
Subs: 2 Alpine SWE-1041
Speakers: Stock for now
Car: benz.
What amp should I get? Not lookign for any show-winning performance, just something that'll power these subs I have sitting here fine

i say go with that amp. and run both subs into the same speaker slots or get a 2 channel amp and bridge it. but this is the same thing. im running a 2 channel alpine amp bridged to my 1 10 inch sub and it hits hard. i also tried a 1 channel amp with 2 subs and hit just as hard and then you dont have to synchronize the subs or anything.

Erhm.. Alpine is just as bad as Rockford amps FYI. There both middle of the road. You want a mono amp, class D amplifier.. don't bother with 2 channels and all of that, that's not what their made for. IMO i would go with this http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...mpaign=froogle
Memphis makes solid amps and that will bench at a true 500watts.
Wait... are these woofers DVC or SVC? SVC.. if you wire them in parallel you will have a 2 ohm load.. If they are DVC then, if wired in parallel, they will be wired down to a 1ohm load.

Meh i wouldn't trust a Kenwood.. plus kenwood and Alpine are probably somewhat overrated. You should go with a Kicker amp. they always have made solid amp that are underrated.

Yeah Kenwood doesn't seem that great. JL, Alpine, and Rockford are all middle of the road and are solid amps.. they will be cheaper but they will serve their purpose very well. I still say go with the Memphis :P

I run a Pioneer deck, but that's it. I don't really like their stuff.

Everything ive had pioneer sounds wayy better than anything from rockford or kenwood or even most kicker products. I do like Alpine but they are a lot more $$. Pioneer is great bang for your buck. I got a competition series 1000watt 10" sub for $60 brand new and a 800watt monoblock amp for 90 brand new. Sounds awesome

Currently I have a 6.5 inch flipout pioneer dvd headunit, 4 gauge wiring through out the car with dist blocks and a 100 amp breaker, 2 pioneer front speakers, some cheap ebay rear sepakers hooked up to the headunit, 2 pioneer 10"s hooked up to a 4 channel pioneer amp(400 watts max i believe) bridged. My system sounds CLEAN and POUNDS. I have to admit my 200 watt 2 channel mtx amp iv had for 6 years actually makes my 2 10's hit harder than the 400 watt pioneer but w.e

This thread is 9 months old, and the OP is trying to sell the car he was looking for an amp for. No need to keep going with it....
