There is a big difference in the wiring diagram...

There is a big difference in the wiring diagram for the engine control modules from the 84 to the 89. There's no way to make it work. Best thing to do is change to the distributor from the 89.

RPO Y87 included four-wheel disc brakes,...

RPO Y87 included four-wheel disc brakes, limited-slip rear axle, quicker steering ratio (14.4:1), and dual muffler outlets. Hope this helps.
