An update: it clears the cross-brace fine, it's the clamp on the muffler that got loose. So the muffler and the rear pipes were moving around. After tightening that clamp things seem better.

Same problem as Camarobirds (both LT1 and LS1): hard shifting, the clutch never fully disconnecting. At least on the car I test drove.

I think they use the spring inserts under the friction pads...
