My trans failed completely on my way to the trans shop. I had to call the shop and tell them I'm stuck on route 23 in Pompton plains. They sent out a flatbed and 100 bucks later I was at fisher transmission in Fairfield NJ. I talked to Steve, told him what I wanted performance wise and he took out the catalogs. I wanted a heavy duty street strip, that would shift hard and not break under heavy driving. Parts: 2200 stall converter B29x, corvette servo, red line clutch packs, transgo shift kit hd2, large servo piston & cover, the beast sun shell, red eagle band, heavy duty steels and whatever other parts needed for the rebuild.
I'm totally happy with this trans, second gear hits hard and spins the tires on full throttle acceleration. The car will actually kick out sideways a bit on heavy acceleration, when second hits. All the shifts are firm and positive. First gear in this car is pretty nasty, since the trans ratio is 3.06, and with the higher stall converter I feel it, the car has a lot stronger pull. My car is pretty much stock so I think. I don't know if anyone cammed it, or did any motor work before I bought it. I'm the 3rd owner and I know the last owner before me did nothing to it. The last owner did have a 99 ls1 camaro and he said the Lt1 pulled harder. I can't say, because I've never driven a LS1. The total cost of the removal rebuild and install with all the goodies was $2346.95. The labor is what costs the most. But I didn't have a lift so I felt this was the way to go. I bet if you remove the trans bring it to the shop, and you reinstall it you will save big time. Fisher transmissions Fairfield NJ.

Good luck: Joe
