3M has a rubber wheel to go in a drill, worked real well on my monte carlo, and there was ALOT of stripping on those things.

Since most painted pinstripes are done with enamel paint, just get some enamel paint thinner and put some on a rag and rub gently. If you see it start to come off you know it's working. Try some of the thinner on a spot where there is a clear coat and make sure it does not harm the paint. Most of the acrylic lacquer clear coat finishes are quite hard and will not be affected by the thinner for a SHORT period of time.

Call the Eastwood company. They sell tons of pinstriping equipment and have a semi-famous pinstriper (Steve Kafka) teaching pinstripe classes.

Their tech guys can probably steer you in the right direction.

I think he works for them on a consultant basis. I don't know when the last time they held a class was, but I remember them only being at Eastwood in Pottstown PA.

that eraser wheel is more for vinyl stripes.... we use them all the time for taped stripes but never for painted stripe... as someone stated above use some thinner on a rag and rub it off.... just dont rub the same spot for too long... may have to hit with some light compound after to get the haze off from the thinner... make sure that the strip isnt "clear coated" over in any spots... iv seen shops do this... and it sucks... if its cleared over you will not get it off without repainting the panel... another method that usually works is buffing it off tooo... but thinner is the way to go.... those eraser wheels burn the paint if not used properly and will most likely do so trying to remove painted stripe seeing its more "permanant" than tape stripe... but do as you please... good luck...
