My car is sleeping in the garage, but you can check the pics out on my website of the TPI install - www.bowtiepower.com/hearttransplant.html . My engine bay is almost exactly like a Trans Am; driver side battery, air intake to the passenger side, etc.

With my 350 Set up, I removed the char-coal canister. All you need is to unscrew it from the base, and cap up the 1 or 2 lines if I remember correctly.

try this link, its from the site, CHEVYTHUNDER.com, thats about doing a tpi swap, i used bits and pieces of info from there when i did my Monte ss 350 swap, i couldnt use the diagrams exactly since i did a speed density setup using many Maf parts(plenum, tb, etc) but it did help a great deal and it should help with what you need.

ok heres my problem wires, i duno where they go or wat they do but they look important

one is thick red and the other is thick orange located on the driverside, there is a fuse that attaches to the inside of the fender at the end of this line and there is also the connector for the windshield washer pump

the other is on the passengerside and has a thin black and a thin grey into a black connector. is this another ground for the fans or something?

i took pics but cant remember how to post them on here?

The orange wire with the fuse in it is the feed for the ECM. It goes from the battery into the main harness. If you want, you can stop by this afternoon and check out my car. It might help you out with a few things. I'm over in Bergenfield. I'm free from 11-3, so PM me for directions if you can make it out today.

ok i got the engine to turn over finnally. the harness where it goes through the firewall on the drivers side was the problem. the conector for the main thick red wire was not connecting wit the other side when plugged in. only problem now is that it wont start, i think its the battery from sitting for so long, so ill jump it tomarrow hopefully

where are you in oradell i live in hillsdale.

the wires you are talking about could they be from the harness that plugs into the alt, if so it cam from - and + one goes to the fuse box and the other to a ground. let me see if i still have my haynes TPI manual.
