I have housings for a 93-97 firebird that'll accept a H4 bulb so you can put HIDs in the car

For what it is worth, from what I am reading retrofitting HIDs is illegal.

The projectors themselves that are in my car are from a Infiniti FX35/45 suv. Everything else to make them work was fabricated in my garage.

H4 bulbs are terrible. I have an ebay H4 kit and the lights are brighter, but the nighttime ability to see is worse. And dusk/wet driving conditions I'm not even sure when my lights are on, because they scatter light so much. I'm going to attempt making my own projectors soon.

It's not the H4 lamps but the housing you are using which would cause the poor performance. Some are way better than others.

I would say no to the housings you posted. Either go with a proper projector setup, or just get a good aftermarket housing and run a quality bulb (not any of the blue-tinted "HID Look" garbage).

Agreed. Honestly, for something easy to install and affordable, pick up the Hella 165mm free-form housings and hella premium lamps with adapter harness. I think the whole thing is maybe a $100 which is well worth it over the factory housings or those cheap ebay units. I had these in my car and they were very nice.
