Intake manifold painting commence

This is where i am at so far, started at 12:15 .

obviously manifold is off, have it sanded down with 120 and 320 grit sandpaper.

currently ready to be primered then sanded to a smooth finish with some even finer sandpaper. Just waiting for a car to get back so i can go get some ha.

I am going with a basic silver color and then it will be airbrushed with an unknown desgin, probably black skulls or black flames not to sure.

Also going to polish up the throttle body and fuel rails if someone can explain how to seperate this.

estimated time of completion, tommorrow night

i actually used caliper paint because i could not find a high temp paint in that bright silver. also used black sanadable primer. . . . it is all together right now just neeto upload pictures but my brother is playing black ops

wish i spent a little more time sanding every nook and cranny but cant complain still looks good unless you are inspecting it for every inperfection

Looks cool!!!! I wanted to paint my LT1 intake white!!! But I am so unsure about it all. So I'll just leave it alone lol.

I'm loving the color dude. Looks good How long did it take you and how much of a hassle was it to remove?

Looks good....just for future reference you cannot wetsand your color before applying clear it will change the color. If your color comes out that rough you can always wetsand with 1500 and apply a final light coat of color before clear.

Thanks for the compliments guys 8]

thank you for that info to, it wasnt rough, i was thiking i had to rough it up before the clear to stick for a lack of words.

it was a pain coming off, since it was the first time. Unaware of the sensor in the back with the booster line going to it and the other vacuum line.

Total time actually working. . . . . Hour/hour and half removing for the first time. Two hours between sanding when it came off and sanding after primer. Two hours of actual spraying between coats. and an hour install. Alot of waiting for paint to dry. About 8 hours total. also cleaned up my TB a little and since i didnt get the fuel rail tool i just left that

Very easy, Would have been better if i started friday night.
