welp, lets at least wait until tomorrow to make the decision right?
the only other two saturdays that the chatterbox is doing car nights in august are the 19th and 26th.
I work the evening of the 19th and checking the schedule, I am definitely unable to take off from work. Therefore if you guys wanted to move the event to then, go for it, but I can NOT be there to organize it or any of that.
I CAN NOT do the 26th because that is the Optima USCA event at NJMP all weekend.
what do people think? I am never opposed to being out in the rain, but i know that will pretty much kill the attendance of our group and especially the turnout of the regular crowd at the chatterbox.

Being that the meet isn't until 4pm anyway, let's hold out until tomorrow morning before making that call.

If its bad or even questionable weather, I'm out. I have no idea if my wipers even work plus my tires are 10+ years old, lol.

Daily driver meet up? I'd hold off til late as possible to call it. Weather could clear out . Couple weeks ago it got nice, rained around 6, but passed, despite the rain, no one left and cars kept pouring in.

check for an update on the board here around 12:00 - 1:00 pm tomorrow. hopefully this rain storm empties its guts tonight and we wind up with a fine afternoon. I will also call/email the chatterbox tomorrow, but I don't know what time they will have Don (the boss) make the decision if the actual Chatterbox event is happening.
Obviously we wont have our meet if the Chatterbox is not having their cruise night.

Hey Dave, I'm closest to the chatterbox far as where we all live. Sun is peeking through the clouds a bit up here, and forecast has 50% storms at 2 and 9 with a big window in between. You and Don have the final say but from what I see I think we can get this in.

Can I bring my truck instead of my Camaro if you guys go? My car is parked in my parent's garage and I don't feel like moving the cars around.

if its a cool hot-rod truck or pretty modded up, I don't see why not, if its just a regular truck, they wont let you park in the show field area, you will be directed to park with the "normal vehicles"
.. I'm still monitoring the weather, and will call the chatterbox maybe around 12:30 .

weather report keeps pushing the rain back more and more every time i check
I just called the Chatterbox and they said it is ON. They did agree with me that turnout might be lower than usual due to threat of rain, but that the event was still on
I'D SAY LETS DO THIS!
I know I'll be bringing my car.
Larry, I would love to meet up with you at your shop, but I might be crunched for time. If anyone else wants to met up with Larry at his shop, reach out to him directly so he knows an he isn't there wondering if/when people may/may not arrive
Yes, we are still meeting at the Lafayette Fire Department parking lot.. It is on page 1 of this thread.
Between 4:00 -4:15 will work, but if someone is running a bit late, reach out to me or post up on this thread, which I will check on my phone from the parking lot
We still will have to park on the grass "hill" where modern muscle cars are. Daily drivers and "regular" type cars can park in the grass spot just higher up the hill behind the modern muscle area, this ares is usually kinda fenced or roped off.
There is no fee to get into this event for anyone. There is food sold on premise. They dont allow alcohol and don't sell it there either
I think I covered everything?

A strong maybe unfortunately. Getting some baseboard molding done and taking longer than anticipated. Have fun guys if I don't see you.

not a single drop of rain while we were there! We lucked out, but there was a very small turnout at the actual Chatterbox event itself. Many of you can attest to the fact that it gets fully packed on a sunny saturday night, and oh well, it is what it is. I was thrilled to see some familiar NJFBOA faces and also to meet a bunch of new ones (well, new-to-me).
We did meet up at the nearby firehouse, and I took a GoPro video of the cruise (below youtube link) with the brand new GoPro camera I bought a few weeks ago. I barely even know how to turn this GoPro thing on properly, so today I learned a lot about it on-the-fly. Also, I learned that today I used the wrong back-screen case for it and you can hear a TON of wind noise in the video. I have the other screen cases, so in the future, I will put the correct one on.
Photos I took with my cell phone:

The blue 79 Z28 is sweet, as is the blue 77-78 TA.
