always take compliments from street racers lightly, they are usualy just trying to talk you up to get a race out of you later.

mine did it on the track

track yes street probably not.

I have seen a high 11 car like a nhra stocker car yank a wheel at the track... But a 12.9 car pullin a wheel on the street with those baby mods you mentioned.... highly doubt ful....

My car at 3400lbs on spray runnin sub 10.second passes set up as good as it's gonna get with a leaf and caltracs 1.31 short times only lifted the wheel an inch at the track.... not to say a car that isn't set up to hook and book wouldn't lift the wheel... but wheelies are for show and do not win races...... so My money would be on that person pullin your leg a little..... Here is what a hookin car on a 28x10.5 looks like....... and I mean hookin!!!

First photo.. pullin tire on spray with a slick
Second photo pulllin tire on a drag radial on motor.....

383 small block.... not shy on pwr by no means..... and car was a streetcar that was purely dragged.... street driving was annoying with 4.10 gears and 3" exhaust

you had a mostly stock LT1 that ran 12.9 and lifted the tires off the ground?

I just dont see a "mostly stock" LT1 being equal in almost any way to a "mostly stock" LS1, thats all.

i do now know if it happened or not just that it is possible..there are far too many varibles..

the entire setup of his car is unknown...
with a mostly stock lt1-decent power-the suspension, and tire and gear mentioned it could be possible..

the temp of the street was unknown..hot summer days the track is stickier than cool spring days..

not saying its definatly..just that its a possiblity..
