hahahha oh cmonnn it wasnt that bad Mike
the clutch blew and jammed the pressure plate with enough crap that it was stuck engaged, so it stalled any time I slowed down. to get going I just cranked the key, the starter would move the car a few feet until it fired up and then I went on clutchless shifting until I had to stop again haha. I know it's absolutely awful for it but I was so close to home and figured I'd rather kill the 100k mile starter and put the $75 I would've spend on the tow towards a new one.

I did that this morning on my way to work for every 1-2 and 5-6 upshift. Works like a charm, thanks. Didn't try the downshift yet.

We're talking about the 4 cylinder Jeep here, not the hot rod.
Adam - this is why I only shop for automatic XJs.....don't wanna deal with wet muddy clutches.

Yeah it was a good deal and its fun romping around town in it.
I may have to drive an International flat bed and a wrecker, they are both stick I believe they have straight cut gears?
