there probably isnt anything wrong with his car.
the full exhaust without a tune is hurting low end power. and without a tq converter to launch a little higher its launching right in that low end that hes losing power..........the 101 mph is the car trying to fix on the top end what it lost down low............
id bet with a tune, a converter, and some seat time he can easily gain 5-10 mph
also did 98s have tq management that needs to get tuned out?

Stupid Loudmouth exhaust. Why do people put these on cars other than to make noise?

Yeah the 98's have the TM. I still stand by my statement, I'm trapping 106-108 and he's more modded than I am.

he just needs a tune. no big deal. he has the mods, but the computer isn't supporting them yet. it's not a big deal, we talked last night about him getting a cheap lap top and HPTuners soon.
once he has that sorted out i am sure he will have trap speeds that you find more satisfying frothy.

all that is wrong with your car is you need a good tune. go to www.HPTuners.com to buy the software and see what the minimum requirements are, then go to ebay and pick up a cheap laptop.
you will be turning the trap speeds that we all thought you should be in no time. then you jsut have to practice launches and you will be set.

R/T= .298, 60'= 2.1888, 330= 6.038, 1/8= 9.153, mph= 79.42, 1000= 11.788, 1/4= 13.997 mph= 101.51. This was my car's best so far. Mapple Grove will be better in NOV.

you can have the most expensive parts in the world and still lose to a stock z28 if you dont get a good tune

Get your existing combination sorted out first- before you spend another dime! Something isn't right.

a tranny cooler is a great addition to any performance car with an automatic transmission, regardless of the converter...and doesnt effect daily driving in the least

WERD I trapped 107 in good air with my 04. I went to E-town for the corvette challenge last year when it was in the 80s and still ran a 13.6 and I was stock. Took the car to atco in good air and bam....12.92 after I did the zip-tie free mod. E-town just sucks period. You guys need to come down to atco for the definitive answer....seriously.

Do some research before throwing $$ at the car. A converter that low is a total waste and won't do a thing besides burn a hole in your pocket. A good quality converter, even at a 3000-3200 stall speed will feel damn near like stock. Just don't cheap out on it or else you'll regret it.
