Anyone in NORTHEAST NJ have a SOM 4th gen?
I'm trying to find a STOCK Sunset Orange Metallic 4th gen Camaro or Firebird/Trans Am that's somewhat local to me.
I would need you to stop by my house in Closter(Bergen Co) just for less than 5 min so I can compare the exact color of your car to one in question in order to deal with some future paint matching issues.

you can always just take the gas cap off the car and take it to a body shop. they can throw it on that camera thingy they have and itll get you the paint code

I already pulled out the radio bezel and was gonna take that to see if they could match it. but mainly I wanna see if it really is SOM, if it is, replacing the doors would be a whole lot easier because then I can just throw on stock SOM ones when i find them. Maybe even an LS1 som front clip. If all else fails, I'll just message Guy on my facebook and ask him what color it is. I'm sure he'll get a kick out of the fact that I have it now. haha

Nope...lol. I know the SOM paint code is 71u/WA633N, However, the car is an LT1 that had been repainted several years ago(originally red). I'm not sure if it was painted true SOM or a similar color.

SOM is not really consistent either IMO. Kelsey's car is a much darker shade than Tim's in my eyes.

i think you need to go to a good supply shop and have the paint analyzed. you're pissing in the wind

I agree. Probably ceased to be the stock color after a few years.

Yeah you definitely need a camera shot. Like Nick mentioned, cars can be the same color but different shades.

just got back from the paint shop. color is SOM. However, their chip book for the SOM paint code wa633h contains 4-5 variations. Two were very very close to the bezel i brought there if not a perfect match. The guy said if i brought a larger piece, like a headlight cover, it would narrow it down to the one i need. i said i could just bring the whole car on the trailer, lol.
now i just need to find SOM doors, so even if i do a full respray, i can leave the jambs.
