Lightbulb 08' F-body Nationals Ideas

Not sure this is ok for here but, After the event is over, how about grudge races on a heads-up or dail-in for fun, and i wrote this above in the 08'nationals, on the event, take all winners from the 4 classes and there best reaction time from there final, pair them up, and dail in your time till there's one winner for a King of the Event or what ever you want a call it. just thinking for other things for the event. JR.

Sounds like a spin off of NHRA's KING OF THE TRACK. I like it. only problem is what do we do about footbrakers against electronics racers? All in all a good idea.

Theres other classes competing at this event so it doesn't neccessarily mean its all 9.50+ cars. He said by reaction time, so ET has nothing to do with who wins.

set the dial in by reaction...NOT pick the 4...so0o least see it would probably be radialtireking, baddest 434, demonicbird, and probably a mild modded LT1 car (or Rons 5oz 3rd gen LOL)for the bracket 1(12.50)

how does one dial a reaction time?

it is a cool idea, not sure if it will fit into the schedule. i will try to work it out.

wait the heads-up class is run whata brung no dial in for me. reaction time vs dial-in, one i suk at reaction time, and two its hard to dail-in a car that runs low 9's , things like tire shake, spinning, wheel stands, horsepower is that cause of it all, so there is cars out there that can do that thats rare. my 4 cents. JR.

It would work, Like RacerZ said. King of the track pairs all the class winners from Motorcycle, Street, Pro and Super and pair them off and run two rounds for the king. And the Super cars do not always win! If you dump heads up into the field then they would need to dial in, they can figure out what their car is going to run.

Bring the winners of each class back to the lanes and pair them off and hot lap them, 10-15 minutes betwen rounds, no extended cool down. You could turn this around fairly quickly, run the finals for "race cars" before the "street cars" so they get a few minutes to cool down and refuel to help limit the wait time.

1) Build it
2) Race it
3) Break it
4) Repeat!!!

the winners of heads up would have already had 6 or so runs in, so they could select a dial off that.....or redial if theres time i suppose. the only problem being that i for one wouldnt want someone coming up my ass at over 150 at the end of the track

years ago at Maple Grove i was in the semi's and i was 146mph back then, i had to run a 86' camaro that his dail in was 13.95 and i was 9.33, talk about being nervous waitn to leave he was just about at half track and it was on car left like a rocket hit 2nd gear the car started to spin the tires got to top end he was dead on 95 with a 95, i was 9.44 @ 145 that was bad, the waitn was worse.JR.

right, so how would we work it so that the different classes could safely compete against each other.

because i think a king of the hill type contest would be a cool way to wrap things up.

I hear ya jr. I had to run a 15 second pickup at cecil county earlier this year. Nothing like passing a car going like 90 when your going 150+.

would b cool to have a "King of the track" type event afterward. Everyone dials in. puts pressure on driving skills, not just if u have cubic inches in dollars 4 a fast car.A guy with a 15sec. car has as good as a chance as a guy with a 9sec. car.As far as safety, lets all do the right thing. If u get loose out there lift, yeah it sucks but live 2 race another day. I was once chased down by a dragster going 146MPH.Scary as ****.Hopefully this can happen. I'll b at the nats at Islandin Aug. Look me up we'll shoot the ****.thanx
