Idea/small fundraiser @ '07 Nats
Ok, i was just thinking about something that could possibly be done to help the club raise a little money.
Since everyone will basically have their car at the event and most will be cleaned and very presentable, What If we set something up where members can have a picture taken of their car. I dont mean while in a line of other cars, but instead, have an area of the track(pits, anywhere, etc) set up as almost a "stage". A member could pull their car up, a high quality digital picture could be taken, and then the next car moved in. Then after the nats in the following days, The pictures could be printed out say to the size of 8x10s and sent to the owners. Yea it seems like a bit of effort, but i believe many people would like a picture of their car like that.
Now keep in mind i dont have a real idea of how much it costs to print a good quality 8x10(especially all different ones) so that obviously will determine alot. but if it could be done reasonably, this may be an idea worth looking into.

Not a bad idea, maybe to add onto it, you could take a picture of the car & the owner. Plus we could use those pictures for the website, and even build a member profile thing out of it.

i am talking to a photographer about this idea. looks good, he is interested, we sut have to work out the logistics of getting everyone photographed and then getting the pictures out in a reasonable time frame.

Maybe do like at Cops~n~rodders where they take your pic as you drive in and have a sign in the background for the show. This way you get more exposure for the club and the Nats too?

If you take pics of them driving in right at the gates you could have back-ups in traffic. I would have a seperate area towards the stands for pictures where people can still see the cars but be out of the way of the racers.

id def be interested in this. maybe once the racing is done island could close the track down so people could get some cool pics snapped of their car at the starting line/launch pads? If not im sure there is something we could set up nicely at Island

i like the idea of haveing your cars picture taken but if a may make a suggestion. instead of just sending people a regular photo of their car why not make it a plaque with the date and f-body nationals across the top. just recently i went to a car show and recieved a plaque with a photo of my car and the name of the show for $20.it would be kinda cool to have your cars picture taken in front of the tree faceing down the track. Just my .02 cents.

I agree with mach1killer. I suggested that when this idea first came up, those would make for some bad *** shots!!

that idea has been brought up, we jsut don't have the money required to front for it this year. it is written down and hopefully will be something we can add for next year.

And here I thought I was the photoguy.... ouch Tim, ouch. HAHAHA. But to get more fundraising money, a hot chick(or guy) next to the car and car owner could bring in money
But i'll be there snapping off 1,000+ pix like last year.
