I remember reading on Jeepforum that they were terrible on the road. Why not get another set of Bilsteins?

replacement ZR2 bilsteins are $$$$$, just browsing for a cheaper but decent shock, however from what ive seen, high milage bilsteins are still better then some new crap

I want to replace the shocks on my S10, it has rancho shocks now and it is a hard ride. I was thinking of going with Skyjacker nitro shocks.

This is one of those areas where 99% of the time more $$$ = more quality. IMO, the best compromise might be to deal with your worn stockers until later this spring when the chance of snow / road salt is gone (so you can DD the vette), and then pull the stockers and send them to Bilstein to be rebuilt. Contact them and they will give you a quote. Won't be dirt cheap, but should still be significantly cheaper than just buying new ones, and you won't have to guess at the ride and handling of aftermarket shocks.

You should contact them first to find out more info, but there's the link to the form you have to fill out.
