exhaust suggestions

i have a 97 z28 and am looking to invest in a good cat-back exhaust system for it...something that gives a nice power boost as weel as a good sound...i'm looking at either the slp loudmouth or the magnaflow catbacks...also, what would be a good set of headers to use...my friend rob(f-body god!!) told me about a setup that can convert my 2-cat system to one cat...i can't see to find it, but if anyone knows where i can find one, please let me know...thanx

ok first...why do you want to go 2 single cat? especially when the SLP LM is designed for dual cat cars only? and second...go with the LM...magnaflows too damn quiet

j0n is right, the dual cat system flows much better.
the loud mouth sounds ok, getting to be a bit generic. it is the latest toy i guess. i really like the sound of the magnaflow stuff.

full length pipes are where it's at. LT1's love to breath, give 'em some tubing
jsut check out thunder racing and other such sites for pipe selection. i know FLP and Hooker make good full length pipes that will help and still maintain your emissions.

The single cat set up comes from the 93-95 Z28 this is probally what your buddy was talking about. Most 96 and up z28's used the dual cat set up. If you are looking for a magnaflow cat back email us at streetofdreams2004@yahoo.com . Members of the njfboa recieve a HUGE discount on magnaflow systems, mufflers and converters. Many of the members of this board can vouch for us having met us at englishtown or whiskey this past year.( see "flyerd magnaflow demo SS camaro" in previous postings). Just a note about your year camaro, we have found the the 98 and up magnaflow system 15684 system fits much better that the 93-97 15620. Again this has to do with the single cat vs dual cat set up. ( The 15620 also fits 85-92 with slight modifications)
Gm made a model year change someting in early 96 , and never bothered to tell anyone so you must make sure which set up you have. The magnaflow system on an LT1 is amazing, much different than on my LS1( it all has to do with cam shaft timing and duration). Good luck , and hope to see ya at spring english town, it's only 4 months away.
