HID Projector Retro Fit

So I have been looking at doing a HID Projector retro fit in my 2005 silverado for quite a while now. I am about to pull the trigger on a kit and just wanted some insight.

I can get this:
http://www.theretrofitsource.com/com...l#.VGtW_PnF_0c
For ~$290.00 all said and done

OR I can get this:
http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/Projectors-H1-V3-Pair
For ~$105.00 +~$30.00 for cheap DDM HID lights

Is there a benefit to running either one?

FYI: Here is what I am looking to do, not sure if I am going to use the high beam or low beam side yet.

IDK how different the sierra and chevy housings are but BLS did mine with this stuff...
Morimoto Mini H1 5.0 bi-xenon projectors, clear lens retro, custom Iris shrouds with 5000K 35W Morimoto lamps and ballasts...

I've used both HID kits and the TRS stuff has been more reliable. And in the instance they haven't been, getting parts warranteed has been easier. The ddm projector setup is new on the market. Output looks decent for the price. The big difference between TRS and ddm is the HID kit cost. You get a nice relay harness with the TRS kit which is something I recommend for any HID setup.

Based on your current lighting, I'm sure you will be happy with either. If you decide to go with TRS, shoot me a pm.

Why didn't you start with the Denali headlights? All you need is an adapter plate (which you can find on any gm truck forum) and you can just pop a HID projector in there.

Price, denali housings are $$$ I think, and it was a BLS project.

I originally tried using a set of aftermarket, clear lens housings. The low beam bucket area was much shallower than the factory housing. After a lot of cutting, it was getting a bit ridiculous. Basically, I ended up picking up a set of OEM style housings and basically used the clear lens from the other set onto the OEM style units. Overall labor wasn't worth the hassle but material cost was a 1/2 to a 1/3 the cost of Denali housings.

Not all Denali housings crack open easily as you see in the videos to swap the projector. My DEPO units I bought for my 01 Yukon were permasealed and after a lot of heating, the projector didn't want to budge. I could start cutting but did not want to ruin the housing in the process. I would have ended up opening the whole housing to clean debris. Working with permasealed lights is such a PITA.

I have a pair of the brackets you are referring to.

All those things. Denali reproduction OEM style housings are around $260 for the pair. The stockers are ~$50 for a pair.
