As for gas mileage my camaro can get 20 MPG city if i drive conservatively, and all Highway I got 28, but that was when the car was 100% stock, I donno what it is now. The Chevelle gets 10MPG....highway :w00t:

Savage_Messiah 06-19-2006 10:22 AM

Well point proven tho you v8 guys are getting better milage than I am at least  I usually get 22-24 MPG, mixed city and highway

GP99GT 06-19-2006 10:40 AM

i get like 20mpg mixed driving...and you could barely call this city, its mountain roads

Savage_Messiah 06-19-2006 11:06 AM

For some reason when I was in high school - car was stock, 3.08s, all city driving barely touched the highway - I'd get, if I was lucky, 200 miles on the tank which works out to about 14 MPG (I usually get 14 gallons when I fill up)... now it's usually 300 which is about 21 1/2... so, I lied about that 22-24 i guess lol. One time right after I got the 4.10s I did get 24 or 25 MPG for a tank, all highway driving.

V 06-19-2006 11:32 AM

i got 29mpg highway when i drove down to orlando in my SS, that was nice.

WayFast84 06-19-2006 11:43 AM

this is why i want a m6 4thgen!! I have also heard about guys with tpi l98 with swappped t56's getting 32 mpg high way

Looks real clean Brandon, good buy.

yea thats what i wanted to do with my (previous) bird. i wanted to do a completely stock run, then with intake and exhaust then with tuning and see what the difference is

i prolly couldnt do that, cuz the new whip is out in pittsburg and i cant get that until i have the check for my old bird. plus that might screw some stuff up cuz the A/F ratio was off before since the egr was leaking alot

those came off my old bird today :D next up is the exhaust then ill have everything i want off of it.

as for gas milage, from vineland to wayne which is about 150 miles i would use about a half tank one way, after tuning it would take somewhere in between a half and a quarter tank to travel the same distance. pretty sweet...

WayFast84 06-19-2006 10:55 PM

do it all in sequince

stock run

lid run

exhuast run

tune run

edit

and ground effect only look good on gta's and z28's (thirdgen of coarse) 4th gens are the decals ;)

Brando56894 06-19-2006 11:03 PM

have you ever looked at an after market exhaust on a 98+ firebird w/o ground effects?? i think it looks really ****** cuz they just hang there...

you know brandon its funny you say that cause i LOVE the look of formulas. my dream is a white formula with the slp hood, raptor i think its called. a nice corsa exhaust, tints, and draglites.

so your saying you want a car that looks like ass?? and im not gonna have the ws6 badges and a TA spoiler, just my regular gfx and a ws6 hood (eventually)

@jake my dad and I were lookin at a regular firebird online that had an aftermarket exhaust and the tips stuck out wayyyy too far and they just hung there, it looked soo nasty. i feel that there needs to be something around them for it to look good, to each his own...

dude just PM me directions to your house so i can take care of this ****i gfx problem... the problem being they'd look a lot better as a melted heap of plastic

don't tacky-ize your damn car with those things again dude, for your own sake

Mike 06-20-2006 08:49 AM

IMO, putting on a ta rear bumper to get the exhaust surrounds, and the ta smaller side skirts, and leaving the front bumper as is would be a good looking route to take......

Savage_Messiah 06-20-2006 09:01 AM

what Mike said... I've said it before and will say it again, the ground effects just don't look good... maybe if someone got them molded on it could look decent but with that huge gap between them and the body panels, ugggh. Plus brandon you don't have the best of luck with them, like that snow bank you plowed into and ripped one of the front GFX's off... !them and save yourself some trouble

Hey I want a trans am not a firebird... !ground effects

Mike 06-20-2006 09:46 AM

jackasses....its not !gfx yet, at this point were trying to convince them to stay off in the first place, once they go on we can have the !gfx conversation :)

brando in all reality i liked your last car and im sure ill like this one, but i think the lower profile bumper and sideskirts i suggested would look "as" good, be "as" functional...be lighter, and have less chance of forcefull removal by road conditions

:finger: lol, i cut cars down to nothing when i scrap them, every car i drive on a reasonable basis has as many options it came with and as much comfort I can get out of it.

If I was into racing seriously, then maybe id value weight reduction a little higher, but i like to drive my cars and show them. on the track yeah a stripped interior may gain you a few tenths, but i dont think you passengers on the street for everyday driving would appreciate it. i dunno maybe its just me, the one with a dvd player and xbox(soon ps2) in my SS, bone stock i ran 13.6 first run ever and in the staging lanes i was relaxing playing Test Drive 5, haha.

Also the A/c thing, my GFs monte is ttop with grey cloth interior, but the past 2 days she hasnt really driven it cuz it was just too hot out. It has A/c but i gotta swap in a cutlass or f body condensor and have the system charged. i didnt do it yet because she said "i dont need it, i have ttops" but this goes to show her A/C is a plus. I see kasey and brandon taking after james alot now, which isnt bad, dont get me wrong, lol. but look at his daily driver benz, a tad bit more luxury, even the neon has more creature comforts than his bird now. personally i like to relax when i drive sometimes (including music, a/c, power steering etc).

:werd: your last car looked awsome, im with mike a ta rear bumber and side skirts would look great! I actually had this idea in my head If a formula ever came into play in a few years

Edit

Im with paul 2.

Its one thing to go !air !egr but now that I think about I really shouldnt have done !a/c I put my keys on the dashboard for about ten min today while I took my drivers side header off I went to lock the door and get the keys out they were burning!! do massive weight reduction if you have a beater..

GP99GT 06-20-2006 11:50 AM

brandon do yourself a favor and sell those ground fx on ebay or something. they look horrible ony our car, like they are just slapped on there. much like the new corolla S
