9secfirebird 06-13-2005 09:58 PM

bad64chevelle 06-14-2005 10:46 AM

Why wont it work with your ring and pinion...just asking...

9secfirebird 06-14-2005 11:05 AM

i have a 7.5" ring gear, and the unit is ment for a 7.625 ring gear(4th gen rears have this) i asked jon what you did and he said you finished your rear or ida called ya and given you first licks at it.

bad64chevelle 06-14-2005 11:10 AM

wait a sec...my posi unit said it was for the 7.625 and my ring gear was for the 7.5...

LT!freak94 06-14-2005 01:53 PM

i dunno what whatever you guys are talking about i dont know rears but i have a 3.73 rear with a new ring and pinion so i have no idea so nevermind lol

9secfirebird 06-14-2005 03:13 PM

what? hahahaha

Tru2Chevy 06-14-2005 03:23 PM

I was under the impression that the 7.5/7.625 were interchangeable.....

they are...if you get a new ring/pinion and carrier. but a 7.625 carrier and a 7.5 ring gear wont work.

foff667 06-15-2005 09:23 AM

is it a 2 or 3 series carrier?

9secfirebird 06-15-2005 09:24 AM

series 3

foff667 06-15-2005 02:32 PM

thats the same as the slp take out diffs that sold for $75 back in the day right? Is it that you need a 2 series for your rear? I still dont understand why the torsen wont fit  I too always thought they were interchangable.

They sold for $99 - and it was a steal just like all of SLPs other take off parts. Now they pop up on ebay with a bit more use on them, and they regularly go for $120-150.
