Who else saw the leaked pics??? I have my thoughts on it but overall I like, hoping they go in certain directions with the possibilites that were shown.

I saw them. I think it's a great concept overall (however, it might still be early to say anything). The rear end is very 1st gen, but I like how they made the front look more modern than retro. The good thing about it, the minute you see the pictures you recognize it as a Camaro. You don't have to try to convince yourself that it is one. I would have liked it if they made it as an SS concept, and picked different color than silver (I hate silver). Very exciting, and I hope GM follows the design they're going with. Hopefully this is an indication of some real cool cars to come from GM in the future. Just wish they could do something like that with the GTO!

It definitely needs some more refining but the good news is that they came up with a concept. As long as there is a strong response then they will proceed.

We cannot post the pics again. GM has their panties in a wad because of the leaked pics and is apparently hunting down any message board that has them up... or something to that effect. I do believe there could possibly be a certain administrator with a number in his screen name that you might be able to email and he could possibly be able to send you some pics of something that would be of interest to you.

If it's even close to what I saw, one will be in my garage!

Actualy, you can put up the pictures. GM realizes that the damage is done, and there is nothing they can do. They are searching for the leak.

Link to explanation?

They are on CZ28, and Scott S has given personal permission and even have supplied un-watermakred pictures from what I understand. They are in the CZ28 lounge for anyone to look at. Close ups of the undercarage, both front and rear, as well as several angles of teh exterior and a 2nd pic of the interior.

Tru2Chevy 12-08-2005 12:01 PM

They just put it up on their front page too.....

Scott says not to worry. The car in those pics is not exactly what you will see in Detroit. Many small revisions have been made, and there is a huge thread on cZ28 giving feedback on what they saw.

Al, werent you telling me last night those pictures are at least 2 years old.

I think its hideous, I liked the hot-wheels car better :-(

Firebird67dude 12-08-2005 01:13 PM

Is that dual exhaust into one cat then dual again but exits on the opposite side it came from? And i like the I.R.S. on it. If that wat Chevy has for the Camaro.......CANT wait to see wat PONTIAC can do.

Untamed 12-08-2005 01:31 PM

That picture looks like a chop. Look at the nose and roofline.

IROCZman15 12-08-2005 01:40 PM

yea, i like what i saw a lot

maybe not so much the skinny pointy mirros, or a few other things, but some stuff like the true dual exhaust , front nose and everyhtign was really awesome... i'd get one

Not a firebird or t/a if that's what youre asking. That line is dead.

I think the reason it looks like a chop is for cmparison purposes... maybe in GM "ok do we want this front end or this?" personally i prefer the passenger side.... i like it. the interior preliminary drawings, mirrors, and high, vette-ish rear I don't like as of now but will reserve my judgement for the entire car for the auto show.

but the gto will carry the same internals supposedly. ghey but that what i heard on ls1tech somewhere. no more holden i guess

BigAls87Z28 12-08-2005 05:13 PM

First off, the pictures are of 2 different cars, one a little different then the other. when they do clay designs, they only do half clay and put it next to a mirror. The other side is just another version of the same car. It is in fact pictures from inside GM, but this is NOT the car that will be at Detroit. This car is anywhere from a year to 2 years old. There was a recent 11th hour redesign of the front end and several other items such as the tail lights, and other trim. What we will see is a car that looks like this, but tweeked with a more "modern" front end.

And yes, we got a Sigma-Lite chassis. Pictures show that the whole rear suspension cradle is exactly the same as Sigma, so that part of the engineering is already done. Front end also looks heavily based on Sigma. This is very good and will help speed up production.

Koll 12-08-2005 05:23 PM

Meh. Im kinda getting tired of this Retro thing
1st gen looked nothing like 2nd
2nd looked nothing like 3rd
3rd looked nothing like 4th.

Go with a new body style.
...............
something thirdgen-ish :)
