Driveshaft or 10 bolt

Which would go first on a 95? I would guess the rear, cause stock DS is steel correct?

NastyEllEssWon 04-13-2009 09:36 PM

get the rear first. big things are the hardest to get. driveshafts arent too expensive. rear comes first.

sweetbmxrider 04-13-2009 09:38 PM

opti

yeah its steel. its probably 6 one way 1/2 dozen the other. too many factors but money in the bank is always a good thing :D

LTb1ow 04-13-2009 09:39 PM

Well ok, how about an LS1 DS vs. 10 bolt?

The DS seem to be breaking more often than 10bolts.

cbrrmike has a 12 bolt and nastyls1 has a 9"....can't think of anyone else who has broken a driveshaft recently.

NastyEllEssWon 04-13-2009 09:52 PM

LTb1ow 04-13-2009 09:53 PM

then break rears all summer long and eventually spend all the money that you couldve saved for a nice rear.

LTb1ow 04-13-2009 09:58 PM

LOL. Thank you. Maybe I will, maybe I will...

Strange makes a nice 12-bolt piece for the street for about $2000. Expensive but worth it. Better to deal directly with strange.

i dont want to spend my money on transmissions either once all the engine mods are done. but hey, if you wanna play you gotta pay

Sadly enough....

Ugh, this may be a painful summer.... :-?

JSPERFORMANCE 04-14-2009 07:09 PM

Flip a coin... Heads the shaft tails the rear. Or better yet, the rear locks up and snaps the drive shaft at the same time!

Look for a Strange 12bolt/driveshaft package deal coming from JS Performance this summer...

sweetbmxrider 04-14-2009 07:11 PM

package deal.....NOICE!!!

98tadriver 04-14-2009 07:24 PM

hmmmmmmmmmmm

i was launching at 6k rpm on slicks last year on the 10bolt and stock aluminum DS, it was fine

also, i heard the stock aluminum LS1 ds is stronger than the stock steel ds

I'm sure Hanlon Motorsports could fix you right up. Bob is a really knowledgeable guy.

yeah its really luck, rons broken rears on street tires but on slicks and skinnies a 10 bolt last him all of last season i think

98tadriver 04-15-2009 09:32 AM
