Xbox 360 Hard Drive Upgrade Question.
Can you upgrade an Arcade with a bigger hard drive? if so is this something that just snaps on like the dreamcast or is it more involved? will it void the warranty?
|
the hard drive clips onto the top of the xbox, and will not void your warranty lol.
|
depending on what you call the top of the xbox (because you can lay it flat or stand it up) im talking about if its stood up. There should be a plastic grill you can unclip to put the hard drive on.

Don't believe me eh?
LOL |

its called HDD |
arcades don't come with a HDD
|
Arcade doesn't come with a hard drive, therefore you can't save a thing. Unless you can get a killer deal on an Arcade (like the one at walmart tomorrow at 8am) you're better off buying a system with one.
Just a heads up, there are no off brand harddrives, only what MS has to offer so be prepared to pay their prices |
yeah i was gonna get one with the walmart deal tomorrow. im thinking against it though, cause its adding up really fast
|
you get a $100 giftcard. a hdd is all you have to buy (other than games)
|
I went from a 20gig to 120 gig on my arcade and there was a cable you have to get to transfer all you data over.

fought off the crowd this morning to be one of the first to get his shiny new bad boy. bought the 60 gb hdd, headset and 3 months of live for 90 bucks...free soda ftw  as for the transfer cable thats not necessary...i have no previous game files ever edit: oh yeah and i made sure its a jasper. :D |
I just wish 360 had built in wireless like the Wii and PS3 have.

my bros x-box took a crap on him too. its the heat sink issue where if its on for more than 10 min it shuts down because it gets to hot. |

You figure out how the hell you are gonna get internet and a TV to play on?
|
i've been working on being able to swap off-brand hard drives into the 360. Got a 2.5" 120gb SATA drive I'm playing around with at the moment. Just gotta wait for a cable to come in so I can ghost the drives a different way.
Somebody in the "hackers community" was able to do it, but needed VERY SPECIFIC hardware (hard drive brand, version #, and logic board). |
