Xbox 360 Hard Drive Upgrade Question.

Can you upgrade an Arcade with a bigger hard drive? if so is this something that just snaps on like the dreamcast or is it more involved? will it void the warranty?

depending on what you call the top of the xbox (because you can lay it flat or stand it up) im talking about if its stood up. There should be a plastic grill you can unclip to put the hard drive on.

Arcade doesn't come with a hard drive, therefore you can't save a thing. Unless you can get a killer deal on an Arcade (like the one at walmart tomorrow at 8am) you're better off buying a system with one.
Just a heads up, there are no off brand harddrives, only what MS has to offer so be prepared to pay their prices

I went from a 20gig to 120 gig on my arcade and there was a cable you have to get to transfer all you data over.

i've been working on being able to swap off-brand hard drives into the 360. Got a 2.5" 120gb SATA drive I'm playing around with at the moment. Just gotta wait for a cable to come in so I can ghost the drives a different way.
Somebody in the "hackers community" was able to do it, but needed VERY SPECIFIC hardware (hard drive brand, version #, and logic board).
