the GT-40 intake is a great factory piece, dont get me wrong, but if you cam the motor its gonna want some more air

You know you are speaking in greek to most of the people on this site.. lol! Ian is correct depending on the cam your intake may be undersized. The 302 really likes to spin so anything you can do to get it up there will help. The last customers' Mustang I did picked up a bunch when we went to a bigger intake and plenum. Should run good if your combo is right.

i'd sure hope so shooting for at least 250 at the wheels, hopefully closer to 300. I found out why i dynoed 184hp (besides it being a crappy dyno) my dist. rotor was bad, causing it to misfire, changed that and it runs mint now. hopefully ill be able to get it all together for the dyno day in march.

NEVER underestimate that little 5.0 Ford. With some spit and polish his car would humiliate close to half this board. Good luck with it, but get yourself the trickflow intake, the 302 like high RPM

im gonna try to, need to see what the wallet looks like after i buy all the valvetrain parts i need. im trying to run 12's with less than $1500 into the car...so far im sitting at about 600 with the heads and intake, and ive got all the stuff for the valvetrain at around 800, and the gasket set is around 100...so...im right at 1500

Personally if it was me I would do the intake and such now, maybe the cam, and save up for a good set of aluminum heads. I see alot of mid-low 12 5.0's that have just the trickflow top end and a cam (I'd have to find out what cam for you if you want to know). But I think if just 12's is what you are after you aren't going to have a problem with what you have. I think if the heads are done right that is an easy 12.7 in a GT.
