Talking Just installed the best mod EVER!

I finally put in a SLP Skip Shift Eliminator! Finally...and what a difference it makes! No more annoying skip shifting. No more of the car telling ME how to f'in drive.

for those of you who have an M6, u kno what i mean; for those of you who have an A4, ask ANYONE who has an M6 of how annoying that god damn thing is!

...nice...

this is to you GM...

CAGS delete is a great thing. There's much cheaper methods (less then $1.00) then the slp one.

yes its annoying. Do a search for CAGS delete cause I posted a link in 2 threads that showed how to disable it the cheapy way. you need a 2.2k ohm 1/2 watt resistor and just shove it in the pigtail that plugs intot he trans. Thats it...

is it like, start off in 1st, shift to drive, then back down to 2 for 2nd gear, then up to neutral then park for 3rd?

In my opinion, it was a good move for GM to implement CAGS on six speed cars.

Here's why.

It was created to make it easier for stick shift cars to meet federally mandated emissions / CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) requirements. GM knew they had to do this, so they came up with a hack ass way to do it that's easily disabled. That way they meet federal requirements but keep the performance level unchanged.

for 6 months it was: start off in 2, shift to 3 at/above 20 mph, shift to 4 at/above 40 mph, downshift from 4 same point, downshift from 3rd under 30. But then it became start in first - try a few times will the TC caught - rev the hell out of it and throw it up into 3rd.... come to complete stop and back down into 1st... and then try to back up and realize reverse is gone and then i parked it and took it apart

It was something installed from the factory on the M6 cars to force them to shift from first to fourth unless they were over 35% throttle, or something like that. I don't remember the exact criteria for being allowed to use 2nd.

It also helped M6 cars avoid the gas guzzler tax.
