Had to push my LT1 home

So I was driving my convertible and got 1 block away and BAM! It dies! Had to push it all the way home, in the dark.
Fuel pump died. I guess that's my fault for having my dealer install a new fuel pump in September when it died at work.

Grrrr stupid nice weather and no convertible. Guess I have to settle for moonroof in the Sierra.

dropping the tank is a bit of a chore, but not difficult. id hate to do all that work just to replace that little fuel pump. whats a good way to re-secure the piece that you cut off?

i would honestly just drop the tank unless my exhaust was welded. even still i'd probably hack it off and reinstall it after.
i bet there is a template kicking around for the access door

you shouldn't have to actually remove the rear, just drop it down along with everything else down there. I did it without having to take out the rear, brakelines, driveshaft. If you use air tools it's not that bad. Of course that was a 3rd gen though.

I'll be dropping mine soon, although I'll be swapping rears at the same time.

I had this done already in September, and the tank was dropped. But stupid Ford did it because it died at work. It wasn't my first choice to have them do it, but FREE is FREE so I couldn't complain. However, it's dead in the street this time so the tank has to be dropped on my curb! lol

I got an aftermarket pump. I just put a GM pump in there and it crapped out. I got a high performance pump so hopefully I can at least get it to perform something!
