Fuel pump install

Figured since I got the new pump I would throw it in there...

And wow... doing it the right way sucks.

The damn filler neck was always caught on something or other.

Took me an hour to drop the tank on the ground by myself... not bad, but damn...

Beer break, pump install and then back up in there...

Looking good!
I remember the first time I dropped the tank on my GN I just cut all the hoses, to find out those hoses were 5.00 a foot.
So much easier on a 56 Buick to drop a tank.

Yea, one word of advice, the straps that hold the tank up... when you take em off, be gentle and do not bend them at all. What a pain in the ass they were... ah well.

Car runs. No leaks. Success.

Give it some time. I wanna make sure this is correctly setup before I go spraying it.

Does any one else who run a walbro notice it being significantly louder than stock pump?

Nope, just as low as it sits when it hangs. Hard part was getting the body up high enough.

LOL. Some pumps are like that. I put a Holley Blue on my bro's Chevelle and it sounds like a large swarm of REALLY pissed off bees.

Alright, cause mine growls when you prime it with the key before ignition. So far so good... gonna take some time to get back to trusting the float though... LOL

1/4 tank was like 3 gallons....

yeah its known that they are way off. full tank mark is like 3/4 tank. i'm going to try and fill my tank up, then put the needle at the full mark. see how that goes
