Okay....So whats the difference Vette Damper vrs. Camaro Damper?

Yup....Mr. Know-it-all doesn't know the answer for this one. Anyone care to fill me in?
I do know that the hub on the vette damper is consiberally shorter than the camaro damper... Is the vette crank snout longer? As far as I knew all the cranks where pretty much the same in length, just differences in the webs & drilling and such.

 p.s. Yes.... talking about LS1's here !!! 97-04 models

Pretty sure its the length, the vette runs different distances for the asc belt.

I am pretty sure its the distance the belts sit away from the motor, on the vette all the accessories are tucked up closer to the motor,
at least thats what i recall from when i bought my crate ZO6 LS6 for my SS and had to remove the vette balancer and install and F body one.

ahhhh.... who knows, all that matters is that this brand new sfi vette damper does no good for me. (good thing I got a deal on it !!! lol)

not my pic but...

here you can see how far the fbody balancer sits away from the cover

and finally, this is how much an f body balancer can move back before it hits the front cover...

notice here where the belt rides on the water pump pulley... towards the outer edge...
and here on the ZO6 crate engine, notice where the balancer lines up on the water pump, all the way to the inside....

yup fluidampr, that was my second one(3rd overall on that motor)...
this is how my 1st one, had new GM bolt, ended up after leaving my car at the 1000' mark at island...

and the damage it did... (it also dented the water pump pulley so thats why i went to an electric one)...
...k member bent up on corner...

tire rod bent...

and this was my 1st balancer... do not trust professional products....
