				Recommendations

Ok, so my ring and pinion gears are slightly sheered, and my posi unit is ready to take a dump. Anyone recommend a certain company? I was thinking SLP ring and pinion, and getting the posi unit from richmond.

i'm on a $1,000 budget. I wanted a 12 bolt (whole rear end) pretty bad, but I don't have THAT much.
 Ring and Pinion: 250
 Install Kit: 150
 Posi Unit: 500

and I have an instructor in school that said he'd do it for me, and have it all done in one day. of course with a fee. So, i'm looking around 1200. lol

I would do motive gears, and either a zexel-torsen or an auburn pro diff.

When did mine in, I did an Eaton Posi, Motive Gears, and a TA Girdle, among a few other things. Works great, and It only whines at a little bit of a higher MPH and its BARELY noticable.

**Edit** But like Jake said, the car never left my garage and had a few buddies help me out. I would of spent alot more had I sent the car to someone else.

SLP gears are GM gears, My Motive gears had a bent pinon when it blew, I replaced them with SLP gears and I had a spare new torsen in the garage.
If you drag race go for the Auburn Posi, you can get them on ebay from Horsepower1 for under 300.

 Put on a girdle too

If you spin 2,000 doing 65 on the highway and you now spin 2,400 at the same speed your milage will be worse...

Mine lost a little bit (from 3.23s to 3.73s) but not too much of a loss. What I think Jake (QwikZ) means is that the loss is not that bad, however with the gears sometimes there is more tendency to stab the throttle

when i went from 3.42 to 4.10 i noticed maybe a couple MPG change. Nothing that concerned me personally. A lot of people see better around town milage with (numerically) higher gears since the engine doesn't have to work as hard to get the car moving
