going to detroit for 2 hours....

I'm leaving here tomorrow morning around 9am, about 10 hour drive out there, then pick up some parts and take care of some family business at my sisters house, then turn around and come back home...this is going to be fun... I should be back in NJ around 5am thrursday morning. But im not taking the SS, i get to pimp the dodge caravan, lol. The trip isnt a big deal for me, i've done a trip to dayton ohio and back straight, also drove to orlando florida by myself straight last year in the SS. I was hoping to miss any bad weather this time but it doenst look too good. If i dont post in the next few days after i should be back, you can start to worry.

have fun and be safe. they are expecting a lot of snow out there the next few days. if you have access to a CB i suggest taking it and listening to channel 19, the truckers always know where the trouble is.

It looks like the snow in Detroit this weekend will be limited to Friday night and Saturday morning. We should have an ok drive. Hopefully Paul made it home safe this morning.

yeah, i'm alive, I got in at 8 this morning, then slept till 1. The only snow i had to deal with was in PA, all of PA, on both directions. I have some pics i took, i'll post them up later, they dont show how bad the snow was at some points, but 1 shows a 18 wheeler cab spun around and the trailer next to it.

jacknife would sorta imply the cab and trailer were still connected.... lol in the picture youll see what i mean, i'll put it up tonight. I also saw two sedans in the median ditch, a 18 wheeler trailer upside down by itself on the side of the road, no tractor anywhere, and a few random vehicles in the woods, pretty interesting. On the way home at around 3:30 am, rt80 in PA was bad. The road was completely snow covered and i couldnt see the lines at all and only about a car length ahead of me due to the heavy snow. no other vehicles were around so i was doing about 60 making my own path. The rest of the time, i'd tuck in behind 18 wheelers and follow them, and let them clear the roads more. The worst was when everyone even the trucks were doing only 45mph...that was annoying.....figuring it would take 7 hours to get through PA that way. I had the minivan up to 90 at one pointm but maily cruised at around 75, and 60 when the snow got heavier.

Oh and the whole trip i only saw 1 f body, a 93-97 white firebird in NJ by the delaware water gap, that was it. I also passed the GM assembly plant, tried taking a few pics...yeah that doesnt work well at 80mph. lol
