Rear brakes

Anybody have an idea as to what I should look for in rear brakes.... i would scan the inspection sheet to show that there is no "black pixels" on the rear axels at all ... im taking my car to get everything fixed that is wrong with it inspection-wise. Rear brakes, rubber brake pad, and light switch. I really dont want them replaced with the stock setup, cuz this is my chance to upgrade. Any ideas? I have a $3000 budget

why not upgrade the fronts, and replace rears with better rotors, new pads........

fronts do the most work anyway........

my 95 failed for "rear brake balance"

took my dad 15 minutes to adjust and went back and passed

then upgrade with a 89 or newer 9 bolt rear...
or get a 4th gen disc rear, spacers for the fronts, and a set of 4th gen wheels...

then use the other 2400 dollars for other stuff
