pointing the finger at gas companies for gas prices is sort of missing the point. realize that about $1 per gallon of the cost of gas is from taxes. import, health, hazmat control fees, and sales tax are what makes a lot of gas expensive.
the companies that do not import their crude or refined fuels are just playing the market for a little extra profit. can't really blame them, it is the only way to make you r car move.

Cliffs of that link: The above "boycott" would never work for simple supply and demand reasons. Demand will go up at other station, in turn raising the price. Move to next station, etc. It will all equal out in the end.

Guess what boys and girls, gas isnt going up cause of your neighbors SUV, its because 5 million Chinese just bought cars TODAY. Â*
Hybrids wont drive costs down either.
This is what gas is. Â*Thank God you live here, and not in Europe. Â*Its still one of cheapest liqueds by the gallon out there. Â*
Point is conserve your gas if you dont want to spend that much money. Â*
Do you really need to drive your car from your house to 7/11? Â*
Most driving done by most of us can be done on bike. Â*
Bikes dont need insurance, no monthly payments, they dont require gas, they dont need maintances a car needs, and the best thing of all is that you might actualy develop some sort of muscle mass. Â*Now that its summer time, I plan on getting my bike down and riding back and forth to work and other places.
Also...there is another gas station company other then Sunoco?

you know who buys the most gas in the world?
the US military. a few thousand people filling up less would be like throwing a pebble at a brick wall to put a dent in it.

I thought BP bought amoco? In my town there is a BP/amoco station, so what kind of gas do they have there?

It's our fault for a) helping these ungrateful countries and b) for not building any new refineries in the last couple decades! Oh, and for not tapping into Alaska until recently. I also didn't know about the other companies... Sunoco every time. Sunoco is pure bad ass with it's Mark Donohue driven Penske Camaro back in the day and the 94 octane . Long live Sunoco (BP's good too).

If you look at the cost of inflation and everything else over the las 20+ years, gas prices are actually where they should be. We've been very lucky. The things going on in China are going to raise prices for everything. It's like another USA just popped up out of nowhere with millions of people buying up everything they can. I'm just happy I'm getting more than 11 mpg like my 454SS got.

Exxon/Mobil owns Conoco/Philips....and they are all owned by Luk Oil (Russian company) who is being bought by another big international company.

Yeah, China is killing us. The OSU FSAE team can't find any carbon fiber because it's all being bought over seas!!! There's a shortage in the states now and it's killing my team . Still don't even have the chassis done.
I still say it's mostly our fault and don't mind paying the $2 a gallon but it's annoying that when I first got my license it was $0.89 for premium.
