North Hanover is about a 45 min ride for you. Its up near where I work in Florham Park.

If you're going to take the brakes off, check the wheel bearings to see if they need to be repacked.
Different Hanover, I"m in Burlington County

Damn this state and its stupid naming conventions. Kinda like having two Washington, NJ's - one up near Hackettstown and the other down near, well, nothing really. Its in Southern NJ.

No, they need to get fixed. I would prefer if she didn't kill herself

squeaking? BAH! rubbish. no body needs new brakes til your pedal is hitting the floor or if your screamer is hitting the rotor. as long as they are working, it's all gravy. hahaha.

it could be a CV joint, they can make squealing noises if they are worn down.

a list of other possible things may be a dragging brake or wheel bearings. I'm not sure about the dragging brake, unless it's been dragging for a while and has worn the pads down to the metal.

If I had to put money on it, it's either the CV joint or a wheel bearing.

If it was a CV shaft, she would have heard the clicking noise prior, and htat happend whenever not only when you turn, but when you drive as well. Its something that would deffinatly stand out. Like I said, bring it to my shop and we will tak a look at it.

I forgot to mention this last night when I came home from work. The screaching noises will not occur if I am riding my brakes. If I have to slow down while turning, it will be quiet, even if it started out noisy before I hit the brakes.

Fasterthanyou, it actually sounds like it is coming from the right side (the sounds from the left wheel were the occasional rubbing when braking hard). I'm hopin this weekend someone will take a look at it, or I will bring it to Al if I have to. We shall see.

Definatly sounds like a wheel bearing if the brakes make it go quiet. Also, unloading/loading... there are 2 bearings on each wheel. They rarely BOTH go bad and so it can be an outer or inner. Replace both on whatever wheel is bad and you'll be good to go.

Al, what's a good time on Sat to bring it? And which store do I gotta go to? (I'd be coming from 70 past the 70/37 circle). I gotta babysit at 6, so I'm thinkin like 2 or 3? That cool? or would Sunday around that time be better?

First off, Kelly sorry to hear about the foot, hope everything went well.

2nd, thats the wrong Ocean Sears!! Thats Ocean County, you want Ocean Twp!! I gave you directions in that IM this morning. If you go to Ocean County, you will walk out with 4 tires, new brakes, shocks and struts and you wont know what hit you til you get home.
