I feel betrayed. (warning, long story)

Okay, so my friend and his family pretty much screwed me over today. They have an old 2500 series van with a TH400 that I was going to get given so long as I take it out. This would have been awesome since I need something for the 66 pickup. This is the same friend that just totalled his 96 Impala SS that I've been helping him with. We help each other out with our cars so it makes this even worse. Anyways, I'm no longer getting the trans. Well I could, but I have to pay whatever the junk yard wants for it. Today, unbenounced to me, they took it over to the yard to drop it off. I just found out a half hour ago! Last week his father told me that he wanted to bring it over to my place and I could take care of the swap and getting it over the the j-yard (they pickup for free and the only reason I know this is because I was with him when he made the phone call on Sunday). Okay, fine, I'll make arrangements with my neighbor to use his Barn to get the trans out and on Monday have it towed away. I let my friend's father know that I was making plans and he told me the insurance was up on Father's day (Sunday). Okay, well my neighbor's been on vacation until Sunday. I had thought Friday but called him back to tell him it wasn't until Sunday that I'd know if it's okay. It usually is, so I wasn't worried about not getting the trans. Needless to say, this joker tells me he really wanted me to have the transmission but he just couldn't wait any longer. That his wife had been nagging to get rid of it. WTF, I mean WTMFGD!!! The ****ing van has been sitting there for at least 6 years and they're getting impatient! WTF, I only got warned 2 weeks ago that I could have the trans and 1 week that you needed it GONE. So now I think everybody know's why I'm pissed. I was told that I could have a trans and now without telling me, I can't. I feel betrayed. To be told I could have something, go through LOTS of planning, and then be told I can't because you felt it was taking too long... I'm so pissed right now. Here's the real kick in the nuts, he KNEW the j-yard picked up rollers. So let the damn insurance run out, I'll do what we had originally planned and take the trans out in their driveway. but NOOOO, that didn't occur to them. That would have been 2 more days in their driveway which would bring the total up to 2192 from 2190. And this was a friend. He's so impatient sometimes that I've given him the nickname "Mr.Grabby." Because he's always grabing things from me to do himself. I think it's because his younger brother is retarded and his father is out to lunch ALL the time. So I don't hold it against him but I mean for the love of God, let me know! My friend was with his family all day and he knew I was at E-town today. Another thing, this friend was going to go to E-town last nite with me but backed out at the last minute leaving me with no "buy one-get-one free" coupon for the tickets AND being late. So I didn't go and told him I'd just go on Saturday which was the plan if he (we) couldn't do Friday... but NOOOO, he backed out on Saturady too so I went by myself and paid $42 ****ing dollars to watch 10 or so races and a 100 or so commercials during the "breaks." This was just one huge ****ing waste of my time. I don't even feel like helping people out anymore because when I can't deliver I bet this is how they feel. I go the extra mile to help others and for this to happen to me by one of my best friends AND his family... well it really pisses me off. There, I'm done with my huge single ranting paragraph. Hopefully Father's day will be better.

it's the rule of the rusting wreck: no matter how long it's been sitting, rotting away, as soon as you show the least bit of interest in it it will either become: a) sold, b) someone else's car who wants it back, c) the husband's, who's been dead for 10 years or so, and the son just came and picked it up yesterday, d) property of the local automobile waste management site, e) "well, i'm going to restore it someday..."

it never fails.

while it might suck, and they might have lead you to believe you could have it, it was their's, and always their's, giving them the right to do with whatever they want with it, whenever they want to, when it wasn't yours. its just a trans, there are worse things in life that this. try not to think about it. hope you feel better.
