				MP3 solutions

Last summer I installed a Pioneer MP3 / CD head unit. Works great! I have a MP3 CD with over 100 songs I have been using since last summer.
I'm thinking of getting an iPod to consoilidate my various libraries into one and to make it easier to play it at home / car (daily driver and IROC) / work.

What solutions have you guys used? Are the FM modulators any good (makes it nice to move between Honda, IROC, and home stereo)? Are the direct plug-in systems better sound? When I'm driving in the IROC the roof is generally off so I'm not sure I will notice much difference anyway but wanted you opinion.

 Thanks!

The FM modulator is ok, but Pioneer sells a plug that will connect to the rear of the head unit and allow you to hook up just about any auxilary music source:http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...6_4109,00.html

I bought one of those fm mods, and I hated it. Sounds good when you r sitting still, but as you drive around the thing picks up interference. I couldn't stand it fading in and out. I bought a plug at radio shack that has the small plug for my MP3 player on one end, and two RCAs on the other. I just plug the player into any aux. channel. ie: home theater reciever, aux input in my car, pretty convienient really.

A friend of mine had the..."itrip" I think it's called? It's the FM modulator that you plug into the ipod at the top. I hated it. It picked up a lot of interference like everyone else said, fading in and out, and the sound quality wasn't that good. You had to have the volume on the ipod exactly right or else the music sounded like crap through your speakers. I'm also one of the only people in the world that is not an ipod fan. I love music, and have a large library of it, but I just don't feel the need for an ipod.

id say go with the direct connect solution since you know it will be good, the FM transmitters can be crappy...

i have tried 3 different ways, the fm modulators suck. the quality is horrible and its a pain in the balls. i got the fm transmitter for the ipod, it sounds ok but the volume control on the ipod doesnt work so u have to have the steeo volume loud to hear it at a comfortable level(really high for me to be comfortable cuz i am half def.) and the direct wire from red/white end to headphone works the best, the ipods volume control works and it dont have any static of picks up any fm signals coming in over the ipod
