i'm wondering if i should jump in here or not...

02 jeep liberty - wife's car, her record, 0 points, excellent credit, 1200/yr comprehensive
'69 camaro - my car, my record, 0 points, piss poor credit, 205/yr, agreed-upon-value $30,000

i was insuring the '69 with allstate and it was close to 600 per year, but then i was driving it everywhere. Â*now i don't drive as much and if we have to go anywhere it's in the liberty. Â*even if i have somewhere to go, i'll take my wife to work and use her car. Â*we also have our home insured through allstate, and that adds an extra discount to the policy.

as an aside, my step-son is shopping insurance right now and it would cost 700/six months to add him to our policy. Â*if he gets it on his own it's upwards of 1000/six months anywhere else. Â*he's got a few tickets, no credit to speak of, but no accidents.

remember, in NJ, your credit score is taken into account when insurance companies give you a rate quote. Â*i don't believe someone who has poor credit is more likely to get into an accident, but i don't know why they use it anyway.
