Actualy, there has been many reports of a "supercharger whine" coming from a test Z06 at Nurburing. That Blue one that everyone took pictures of. Also, Bob Lutz himself has said he would like to do something to really challange 500k supercars for around 100k.
And then lets not forget the twin turbo LS7 that Jay Leno put in his car, all preassembled my GM Performance Engineering.
Will it be a Vette? Probably not, as having an exclusive supercar at 100k in a Corvette body doesnt really work. A Cien type vehicle would be fantastic, and really raise the bar for Caddy, but I dont see that happening any time soon.

you know, all of the -V cars seem to be breaking the ice nicely for a cien-type car to come out. while i wouldn't hold my breath, it would be sharp as hell, in the right category (cadillacs are known for their price tags), and just seems like a logical step forward to me.
for some reason, i keep seeing visions of that concept in red, white and blue. talk about the heartbeat of america - the pulse just quickened.

Yes, it would be a great car for Caddy, but in reality, they need to work on other aspects of the company. They are making fantastic vehicles, and are becoming hip to younger people. They are going into thier second phase with the launch of Sigma II, which will bring about a brand new CTS, and it will be ready to take on the brand new 3, G35, and IS models that are dominating the charts, not to mention the A4 and C class.
I see a supercar type vehicle much further on down the line, probably 10-12 years from now, if all goes well. And by all, I mean the successful relaunching of Saturn, the updating of Chevy, and the merging of Pontiac, Buick and GMC, and world wide intergration of engineering and design from all over the kingdom that is GM. It would be a true crowing moment for GM to rise above adversity, reclaim decades of lost market share, and truly make world class vehicles again.
