I need help, whos got a trailer I can borrow?
Sometime in the next few weeks, i need to make a trip south to Va to pick up my 94 z28, but i need a trailer. I could send a flatbed but even with my discount itll cost alot. And i havent bought a trailer of my own yet, so i need help. If anyone has a open car trailer i could borrow, it would be greatly appreciated, hell, ill even rent it, i dont mind, and trying to get a uhaul one around here is almost impossible since none of the places have them most of the time. I will be asking a few local friends who i know have trailers but i dont know if anything will be available. oh and if you even got one for sale, let me know. thanks for any help in advance. -paul

Yeah, U-haul gets the big :finger: in my book. I called a week before I was scheduled to pick up the '88 SS and made a reservation for a trailer. They called me the day before we were supposed to leave and said they didn't have a trailer available in Jersey, just a dolly. I was NOT about to have my friend tow the car on a dolly down the LIE, across the Throg's Neck, and over the GWB. I told them that was ********, and I wanted a trailer. She said there was nothing they could do, except find a trailer over on LI. I asked her to call, and she just gave me the # and said I had to do it.
I finally found a full trailer at a U-Haul a mile away from the guy's house, so we had to go there first. Then, since it was a 1-way tow, I had to pay double!
Again, :finger: U-Haul!

i found a few places selling new trailers on ebay, for like 1600, 16' open flatbed trailers, dual axle, brakes on 1 axle, new wheels and tires, dovetail to help loading and ramps including, shipping to PA is like $250extra, and it would be on my way to VA. so i emailed them to confirm about being able to pick up in PA and also to see if i can use it right away, like if they offer temp tags for it. i think thats the best way, since i could use a trailer anyway.
and yeah, U-haul sucks, ive found full trailers quite a few times but the last 3 or 4 time i needed one, no one had anything, even when i made reservations. When i did get one i was sure to get the insurance, i would tow them at 80+mph even when they say max 45mph on the fenders, lol, and one time the ramp slide out on the turnpike and dragged for about a mile sparking and grinding away until another driver made me aware of it.
and i woudl use a tow dolly and remove the driveshaft(since the rear is gonna get replaced anyway probably but the rear lower control arm is broken so that wouldnt be safe.
