Screw Hawthorne Chevy

They suck at the parts counter.

I told the guy I was looking for a 3rd brake light assembly for a 1998-02 Camaro SS. He brings up the 98 model for everthing in the rear, and I recognize that its for a regular base model camaro. And I tell him that the tail-light is specific to the SS model, and he goes trying to tell me that theirs a tail light in the hatch, and how I plan on taking it off. I replied "Its on the spoiler, their is not a hatch light". He asks me for my vin#, when I cut him off to say I have a Z28 and I purchased an aftermarket spoiler. Then he asks me where I got it, and I just told him the basics that I purchased it from someone, I asked how much the part was, he tells me the price (for a Z28 3rd brake light assembly) I sighed and said forget it, and he insists I call the manufacturer or look for one off another car since he wont just order one for any 98-02 SS CAMARO! What a crock, this is the second time Ive gone their for simple **** and I get the run-around.

All I want is the stupid glass part!

**** their couch.

he said it was 60 bucks for the light assembly. and they wanted me to pay 70 dollers out of my ass for a plastic headlight adjustment screw. I had to by the entire set up. Douchbags...

i think the general maintenance section of ls1tech has a sticky with tons of LT1/LS1 F-Bod part numbers - you might be able to look it up yourself

Hawthorne is by far the best dealership I've dealt with.

were the LS1 SS's converted [to SS] at GM or at SLP?

oh and by the way why would you bother buying anything like that at the dealership? You should know by now that any dealership charges an arm and a leg for any piece. The only time that I have ordered things from dealerships are if its a special GM-only bolt that I can't find anywhere, or an oddball interior piece

d&c chevy tech guys have no clue how to put a rear together, dahm improper workmanship cost me another rear, ********. hawthorne had it but GMPP towed it back to d&c where they did it first just 2 months earlier, then d&c said they wouldnt cover it because of "modifications" to the car(exhaust and lowering springs) whereas GMPP approved the repair in the first place stating those mods could NOT shatter a carrier and put a hole in the rear end cover. Hawthorne chevy is the ONLY place ill ever take my cars for service....but yeah parts guys at most dealers are idiots. ive dealt with tons and usually i tell them just to turn the screen to me and ill tell them what to select and click on. lol.

I deal with hawthorne chevy alot..if i have to order dealer only parts at work i usually go through them..

Also when we had to have our 05 Chevy 5500 Kodiak serviced under warranty (dead gas gauge) they did the work for us..

Good guys

I couldn't agree more with both of you, D&C is about as ****** as you can get, Hawthorne has always been helpful to me, and if for some reason I had to go to a dealer to get work done (which I don't / won't) it would be hawthorne... and that's not just because one of my good friends works in service there
