I'm not a conservative, but I'm not a "bleeding heart liberal" either. thats just plain retarded! who has the audacity to ban the american flag in middle america? and why would kids of mexican descent feel intimidated by our nations flag? I assume they are citizens, so its their flag too. ugh, america needs to fix a lot of problems within our own borders.

Someone will be getting sued for this. #1 the student had his civil rights violated(freedom of speech) #2 how are you supposed to say the Pledge of Alegiance without a flag. #3 if the other student wants to display a mex. flag go right ahead. I see all sorts of flags flying around here( Italian, Irish, British, Aussie, Scottish, German, Polish, Israel) and thats one of freedoms in this country.....but this is America and the flag is a symbol of our nation. If you don't like it get the hell out!!!!:finger:

It's just like schools that don't allow the Pledge of Alliegance because one kid is offended by the word God. Absolutely ridiculous. Political Correctness has been ruining our nation, and this just stands as a perfect example of how out of control it has become.

now woudl be a good time for everyone to contact their congressman and senators and let them know what you feel.
personally i already find it highly offensive that so many things are required by law to be printed in spanish and other langauges. this is america, the national language is english, if anyone can't or chooses not to understand that **** THEM!!!
if any person or family decides they want to move to the greatest nation in the world then they damn well better be willing to become a part of american culture. there is no reason for our society to bend over jsut to be nice to other people.

actually United States doesnt have an official language, dont believe me? google it. English is the most widely used language in this country but its not "official" per say. just throwing some fuel in there

I was in Pep Boys today back here in vineland and the freakin advertisements were in spanish! it seems like everything here in vineland is in spanish as well as english, just like you said if you want to live here, learn the freakin language! back in highschool this kid wore a tshirt that said "welcome to america, now speak english" and he got the **** kicked outta him by like 5 puerto ricans...
as for banning the american flag in an american school thats just plain freaking retarded!! so theyre allowed to fly the flags of different countries but not the one they live in, now thats just idiotic. as for the politcial correctness, yes it is getting EXTREMELY outta hand. know what i have to say about political correctness?? **** It!!!

i read that too. now, i find it rediculous that they banned the flag, but i can guess that there's a lot more to this story if you read between the lines. "misguided patriotism" is not what our flag is intended to be used for. We have all lived through high school (well, most of us) and we know how people can be. I can guess that some kids were throwing the flags in the faces of some immigrants (illegal or legal) to try and bully them. THAT is also ********. It's a tough decision on what to do. No one would want to ban the flag that stands for our nation, but how do you discipline a bunch of unruly teenagers.

I hate to break it to you guys but this country has no official language.
Anyway, that situation is Colorado is a disgrace. There is NO justification for that action. If the Mexican students want to fly their flag and embrace their heritage, GREAT. I'm all for it. However, when it happens at the expense of others then people need to step up and put a stop to it.
