Best place to buy a rebuilt Q-jet?

So I have some problems with my choke and should do a rebuild of the carb as my car sat for years before I bought it. Cleaning it two years helped a lot but the warming up issues is getting annoying. I was thinking of buying a used one from the boneyard and do a rebuild but I don't have the time.

Where is the best place to buy a Rochester Q-jet carb?

I want to keep the original for emissions and the Q-jet works fine when properly tuned.

You can buy rebuilt ones from Summit or Jegs, but you may be able to have a junkyard one freshened at a local shop cheaper....

over the years we have found yhat the choke on the Q JET carb ends up loosing its ground dont know what your problem is but if the problen is it takes forever to open the choke drill one of the rivets out tap it out to 10/24 attach a wire from choke screw you just tapped to a top screw holding top of carb on and the ground will be restored and choke will open right up like it should we found for what ever the reason the choke housing looses its ground and that is a quick fix note seen a guy once solder a wire to the side of choke housing but we do it the other way jz

Holley makes "Remanufactured Q-Jets" ... which basically means Holley took a rochester, refurbished it, and put "Holley" on it. Id say look on ebay for one, and refurbish it yourself. Its really not hard to do, plus you learn things

A Q Jet rebuild don't take much time. Back when I was a private in the army living in the barracks, I rebuilt a Q Jet in my room in one evening. My first carb rebuild and it ran great on my buds '71 Buick 455. I had a book with step by step instructions back before the internet exsisted. I'm sure you can find instructions online. It's a very easy job.

There used to be a place in Trenton called Airflow Carbs. A guy named Barry. Great work. Don't know if he is still in business.
