Water problem

That was in the back cargo area, I found it when I was removing my rear carpet wich weighed like 25 pounds with all the padding

your hatch is probably leaking.

Yea, most likely the hatch weatherstripping is going bad. Dry it all off, then spray it with a hose to see where it is leaking.

I was gonna say the motor, but being a 84, you dont have a pulldown motor.. correct?

I think I know where its from, just not sure, Ill know when I get new hatch struts
