Need nerd help lol

Who has experiance with Hitachi dvd cam's, im havin an hell of a time tryin to figure out how to get the vid's onto the pc. thanks in advance.

Don't they burn straight to DVD?

If so, you'll need DVD "ripping" software to get it on the PC. Surprised that the camera wouldn't come with it.

Ya it burns them to the little dvds, i have the software that came with it but it says that it is not a formated dvd when i try to get the vids off of it.

i think my brother has one that burns directly to a mini dvd. he is able to pull video onto the computer with a USB cable using the software that came with the 'corder. i don't know what brand he has tho.

i think my dad has a hitachi. IIRC you can just connect the USB cable or rip it directly off the dvd.

and were geeks not nerds, there is a difference

ya thats what its supposed to do but when i try to do it, it says something is wrong witht he disk, so im clueless.

finalize= (n) to close the session on the cd/dvd so nothing else can be written

ill have to try it with a disk that ive filled up already. If it does work then thats a bad way to make something.

They can't help it....that's just a normal thing for most CD/DVD formats. Lots of times information can't be read if the disc isn't finalized.

Try getting dvd-rw's might solve your problem.
