MAF readings = GOOD!

After i put the motor back together, I couldn't figure out why the SES light was still on after the tune. Well, I found the hidden power in my car ....

It seems the car runs better with the MAF wire plugged into the MAF instead of the AIR pump power wire plugged into the MAF. Timmay and others seem to be laughing at me so heres a pic to see how i coul dhave gotten confused....

Off to the track tuesday weather permitting

well, why the hell would they make them the same damn color, same three prong style, comming out of the same damn area.

So, during cold startups, the PCM was trying to send 12 volts into the MAF thinking its a AIR pump. Stupidy computer, doesn't it know the difference???

There is no timing retard. The only thing retarded is the scanner he bought, which reads in negative when the number should be positive . I dont think any motor on gods green earth would run of -46* of timing.

oh BTW many 96-97 cars LT1's, V6 fbodies, etc the timing reads a negative...its how GM did it at the time...I usually just make a custom PID for it when tuning those years so it "looks" positive...but GM spits it out as a negative so its not his scanner that is retarded.

Autotap reads in +... so his scanner is still retarded.
