Seat preview
So my new seat covers came in and I started with recovering the rear seats first. When I first put the covers on, they were too loose and I remember reading something about that. I found the article online and it turns out you need to steam the seat foam to get it to soften back up and expand it. It tightens up and shrinks over time. So here's the stripped seats and the new houndstooth covers. I need to stretch and soften the covers a little more since they just came out of the package and still have the ripples from being folded over. My camera definitely struggles with the houndstooth pattern! The seats look better in person and you can see the foam 'plugs' the factory put in the one rear seat bottom to fix some defects. The staining is just the glue from the repair.

I wanted something a little different and they almost match the checkered seats in my 70 SS396 as well. Year One sells the seat covers and they aren't cheap! I did manage to work some discounts though.
Here's a couple shots of the interior on the 70.

No, I just put the covers on the rear seats so far but I still need to put the hardware on the upper back seat. The fronts I need to steam the foam still before putting the covers on. Then putting the hardware back on will take a while since I'll need to put some holes in the covers and I always hate doing that and want to make sure everything looks good.

I think it was an option on the GMMG cars. I know Ron's car had the red ones, and they looked very nice.
