Now, I know about that Cuda someone posted up that they wanted 1.2mill for it, it was a roach... this definately looks like its worth the high dollar.

I think that's the car that went for $500K at BJ auction last month. I heard the owner had around $1 million in it so he got royally screwed unless he had someone buy it back for him. If this is the guy who won the auction for $500K, then he's looking for a quick profit. Nice car regardless.

i have trouble caring about a car like that. the next owner won't drive it, the owner after that won't drive it, and the owner after that won't drive it. after so much time and so few miles it has been reduced to little more than a 3700+ lbs paperweight

Yeah, that car I would definitely drive. Considering its rarity, that thing will turn heads like you wouldn't believe. And with only 76 miles, that motor still needs to be broken in

Yeah there are other cars I would rather have before this one. There's a moral imperative to drive a car like that once you get it.

now u see...i would be the a** whole to get ahold of a car like that and drive it every day...cause i couldn't resist...every where i'd get would be a chance to drive it...i would put more miles on it a day than its seen in its lifetime

nothing a******-ish about that. cars are meant to be driven, not jacked up in price so that the enthusiast could never afford it. it's all a game to entities like B/J - how high will the price go this year so we can make more money on the commission...? btw, they get 8% from the buyer and 10% from the seller (or is it the other way around?) which means the only winner in the situation is B/J. 18% on a million is $180,000. no wonder craig jackson looks so happy when you see him on the podium. he doesn't even have to do anything for his money. and when you hear the announcers state that they've had "another 5 million dollar day", all i can do is puke. i just threw up a little bit in my mouth thinking about it.

i don't see anything about that car that would make me want to pay more then $10k for it. as said, i'd drive it. that's what they are for.

That's what I think is the case. It's really a museum piece now. And, in my opinion, it should be. You can just as easily build up a clone that performs better and can be whipped like a rented mule. Why eff with the real thing? Just to "say" it's real? Once an original like this is trashed it's pristine state is gone forever. And it's not like they are making more survivor cars every day.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. I know I'm in the minority with my position on the topic.

In my opinion they are just too expensive and too valuable to be driven. How fun is a cruise really going to be if you have to worry about every inattentive driver on the road? How fun is your burnout going to be if you worry about breaking parts that can't be replaced?

As much fun as it would be to rip around in a real version of a legendary musclecar, it just isn't practical in my eyes. I'd rather beat up on something I can be careless with. I couldn't care less about people who poo-poo on clones. They can go polish their "real car" and sit in a lawn chair. I'll be off in my non original car peeling the tires off the beads on a windy two laner.

honestly, if I owned one of those I would plan on driving it. who give a F about date codes? I dont look at cars as investments, they are modes of transportation. what good is a cool old car if you cant drive it the way it was built to be driven?

the whole muscle car investment thing has almost ruined my perception of cool vintage cars. millions of dollars for a stupid cuda...there are only 3 88 1LE's left and they arent going for that much. why? they perform better, they're more comfortable and they're more streetable...in my opinion, they're better cars. but for some reason theose older cars are selling for what estates in central jersey are selling for. I personally would rather have a built up third gen than a stock, numbers matching 71 hemi cuda convertable. why? because I would be able to enjoy the damn thing.

I can't wait for the muscle car scene to collapse.

I think cars should be driven, but I always laugh at how easy it is for people to complain about how other people use their stuff or spend their $$. I certainly don't think these cars are worth what people pay, but it is what it is, and all the internet whining won't stop it (I see it at every car site). I'd love to think I'd thrash a 69 ZL1 Camaro, but you know what, if one suddenly landed in my garage, I probably wouldn't. I'd drive it, but I sure would be careful as hell.

I say to each his own. You want a numbers match that is better then GM made it, good for you. You want a good looking street car that is not the fastest car on earth, great. You want a Freiburger-style primer bomb held together with duct tape and rivits but runs a monsterous 1/4 mile or 210 at Bonneville, that is good too. Whatever makes you happy. But don't piss on someone else's Cheerios.
